Kindergarten Happenings!!

 Happy Mother's Day

We hope all the moms, grandmothers and aunts have a wonderful day!! Relax and enjoy the day!

We had a busy week, with a few bumps in the beginning but we ended it strong. Thursday & Friday were great days with a lot of hard work, cooperation and we earned a bunch of marbles! We finished up most of our planting things.  We will finalize our planting activities on Monday and then spend the next couple of weeks watching the changes occur with the sunflowers and hairy heads we planted. We will begin learning about our selves on the map.  We will talk about our addresses; including our country, state & town that we live in.  We will also continue to work on teen numbers, review addition & subtraction and move into shapes later in the week. Here are a few pictures from last week.  We hope you enjoy them.

STAR STUDENT ~ Cooper
Cooper was super excited to be the Star Student on Monday & Tuesday!  He did a great job sharing his "All About Me" pages and family pictures!  Great job Cooper!
Magic sight words!  The students were super excited about this activity! Sight words were written in white crayon. The students had to use their water colors to find each word, read it and in the process make a beautiful painting!  They were so excited to discover each one and couldn't wait to find the next one.  This is a simple and easy activity that would be a great thing to do at home too!  A nice way to practice sight words!

Awesome sentence writing Jackson!  You did a great job sounding out the words all by yourself!!
This week we sequenced the life cycle of a plant.  Students sequenced the pictures and then wrote sentences to tell us what happens. Everyone did a great job on this.  I was super impressed with how the students challenged themselves.  So proud of you!!
STAR STUDENT ~ Danny

Danny was very happy to be the Star Student on Thursday & Friday! He did a fabulous job sharing his "All About Me" pages and family pictures!!  Super job sharing and answering questions Danny!

Alexis is working on a nearby numbers activity.  We had sent one home during remote learning working on numbers 0-11.  This one concentrated on the teen numbers.  The students had to pick out a number from the bag and see if they could figure out where it belongs.  Some students were having difficulty with this activity but they stuck with it and felt very proud after completing it!  Some students repeated the activity multiple times to see if they could do it quicker each time!
Danny & Ari are in a hot game of "double compare". The children really enjoy this game.  It is a great way to practice adding and greater/less than.
THANK YOU!!!

Thank you for the delicious Teacher Appreciation lunch!

Happy Birthday Emily!!!  We hope you had a wonderful day on Saturday!  We celebrated Emily's birthday and sang to her on Friday!  We hope Saturday brought her many smiles, laughter and maybe even a yummy cake!!

We hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!  A special wish goes out to the mothers and grandmothers!  Hope you have an amazing day!!
