Kindergarten Happenings!

WELCOME!  This might be a long one as I have two weeks to share.  The children are off to a great start.  We are working on routines and procedures. We are learning each other's names and adjusting to a kindergarten day.  Here are some pictures so you can see how great they are doing!
The hallways were decorated to welcome the students!
Walking down the hall with spacing on the very first day!
Alexis' first day photo
Xavier is practicing writing his name.
Our first day at recess. There are 4 area and we rotate throughout the weeks. The areas are: tar/swings, field, big playground, and little playground.  The kids have enjoyed each area.
Buckle up everyone! We are in for a wild ride this year!
Building & exploring with pattern blocks!  Look at some of these amazing creations!

Recess on the little playground.  Having a lot of fun, playing, sliding and climbing.

Working our finger muscles by ripping tiny piece of paper with our pinching fingers. Afterwards we glued the pieces to make our names.

Learning some sign language!  So much fun!  Ask your child some of the signs they have learned so far.  They love the pizza song!
More pattern block creations!

Smiles on the playground!

Finishing up on our names!  This is a great way to exercise our fingers to make them stronger for writing tasks.

Alphabet Arc
We read a book about how we are alike and different.
Then we looked at upper and lower case letters to see how they are alike and different.
Then the students matched the letters to the arc. We practiced saying the alphabet & built our two new sight words: I & can.

The BIG playground!  I think it might be the favorite recess spot!

Play-do
We have used play-do to act out a story, practice numbers, shapes and build our finger muscles!
Thank you Hadley for sharing a picture of your at home learning time!  I loved your family collage page!  It came out spectacular!!  I spy Flat Mrs. Walton in your picture!  Love it!!

As you can see the children have been working really hard and having a lot of fun! We have only had 2 weeks of school and the marble jar is halfway filled!! They are doing a terrific job!  I am very proud of them.  Please let me know if you need anything or have any questions.  The remote folders are blue this week. Please return everything in the blue folder when you return to school.
Have a wonderful weekend!
