Kindergarten Happenings!

We had a short in person week but the children did an amazing job during the full remote portion.  Again, I would like to thank parents and caregivers for all the extra help and support you provided your child during this time.  Together we will get through this crazy time!  Here are a few pictures I was able to take during our two days.  Unfortunately, we were very busy and I didn't get many pictures.

Here are a few pictures from choice time!

Here are a few during our movement time!
Can you do a plank?

Reaching under our legs!
Thank you Danny for sharing your awesome work at home!  Looks like you are practicing your vowels!  Keep up the terrific work!
Thank you Jackson for working hard at home!  I love your workspace set up!  It looks like you have a lot of great tools to use too!!  Keep up the awesome work!

We have a short week coming up.  We look forward to seeing everyone on our morning zoom on Wednesday!  We also want to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving!

Kindergarten Happenings!

What an interesting weather pattern we are having.  Last week we were freezing and hoping the snow would melt and this weekend we had to break out the shorts and short sleeves!  I certainly hope you took advantage and enjoyed the beautiful weather!  We had another great week in kindergarten!  The kids have been working hard and getting a lot done.  I also enjoyed seeing/speaking with parents during our virtual conferences!  It was nice to touch base and finally meet everyone!  Here are some pictures of our week.

Enjoying a little extra recess time on a beautiful day!
Saying hello during our snack time!

We drew our self portraits for November.

Work board this week worked on matching beginning sounds and letters. Students had to look/say the word for each picture and find the correct letter to match. They did a great job! Some children had some help and some were able to do this independently.

Practicing some cutting

Writing in our journals.  Since the election was this past week, we learned a little bit about voting. Then the students wrote about what they would do if they were the President.  We had some great ideas about protecting people, loving everyone and helping each other.

Book Fair ~ Both cohorts enjoyed the book fair.
Looking at their books after their purchase.  They were very excited!

Searching for the perfect book!

Practicing the "frog jump" letters F, E, D, P
We used the HWT app to practice writing the letters then we wrote them in our HWT workbooks.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BOYS!!
A BIG Happy Birthday shout out to Jackson!! He celebrated his 6th birthday on Thursday!  We hope he had a wonderful day celebrating!

Another BIG Happy Birthday shout out to Cooper!! He celebrated his 6th birthday on Saturday!  We hope he had a wonderful day celebrating as well!

A perfect weekend to celebrate some birthdays!  Ms. Rose also had a birthday celebration!  We hope the three of you got to spend some time with your loved ones and enjoy a day filled celebrating YOU!!

This coming week will be a little different but we will do the best we can.  It probably won't be easy and there may be some glitches along the way but all we can do is put our best foot forward and try!  It's okay if we make mistakes, because as we tell children, this is how we learn and make improvements!
