Happy holiday!

Here are a few addition pictures from last week!  In library Mrs. Eckelman made cinnamon dough and they made gingerbread men after reading two versions of the story. They also built LEGO structures!  They loved it!  There are also a few pictures from our day on Friday!  Boy was that a day!

Wishing you all a wonderful holiday, vacation and Happy New Year!🎆

Kindergarten Happenings!

It's hard to believe it is the final school week of 2018!
Another busy week was added to the books!  We were busy finishing up some activities, talking about the holidays and spending time with one another.  During one activity we thought a little bit about how the reindeer fly?  Each student responded to this question.  Here are their thoughts:

Jackson ~ "their jingle collars and they move their legs"
Wyatt ~ "because the sleigh is magical and helps them fly"
Zoey ~ "the reindeer have wings"
Bennett ~ "the bells on their harness help them fly"
Journey ~ "Santa's magic is tapped on each reindeer"
Ava ~ "their antlers are magical"
Addison ~ "Santa has magical powers he gives to the reindeer"
Everett ~ "the reindeer do magic first then they go up"
Daniel ~ "maybe they get magic from Santa or the elves"
Meira ~ "every Christmas eve they start glowing color,
then the harness appears and they can fly"
Michael ~ "they have special necklaces they wear"

Here are come pictures from our very busy week!
Holiday color by letter. Working on staying inthe lines and filling the white spaces.

Wow Bennett!  Great work sounding out all those CVC words!!
Mystery Reader!  Thanks you to Wyatt's grandmother for taking a little time out to be a mystery reader on Monday!  The kids always enjoy the mystery and trying to figure out the clues!  We loved the story you read to us!  Thank you Mrs. Sallee for coming in!  Wyatt was over the moon when he figured out it was you!!

Way to go boys!  Working hard to sound out those words!
Filling in the missing letter.
A little fine motor exercise. Filling in the picture with different patterns.
This was challenging but fun!
Practicing all the capital letters.  When we return to school we will
review the capital letters and move onto the lowercase ones.

 Choice time in housekeeping
Fire Station - playing with  playmobile
Puzzles
STEM activity - The children were challenged to build a house out of something that would withstand the wolf blowing it down.  They worked as partners to plan their structure, build and predict what would happen.  Then the wolf (a hair dryer with a wolf face) came along and tried to blow it down.  The kids loved this challenge and we had a lot of successful homes!

Mustache Day
Ms. Torgersen made us all mustaches.  Some of us were already prepared but were given a second one if we wanted.  Here's to all the mustaches!
We celebrated two early birthdays today.  Everett and Zoey will celebrate their birthday over vacation so we sang to them today!  They enjoyed their special hats.  We hope you have a wonderful day next week!
