Pumpkin exploration

We had a great time investigating pumpkins with Mrs. Bennett's class. We made predictions, touched the gooey insides and read a story using musical instruments!
Some of us did not like touching the insides while others could not get enough of it!
Separating the seeds.

We had some close predictions!  We discovered the pumpkin floated, it weighed 12.4 lbs and had 625 seeds inside it.
Here is our pumpkin scarecrow that we made while reading the story "A little old lady who wasn't afraid of anything". The children also helped with musical instruments and their bodies to tell the story. Great job everyone!  A fun afternoon!! 🎃

Tahanto Trip

We had a spectacular day!  The kids really enjoyed the activities planned and spending time with the older students.  We had perfect weather and the children all did a great job listening, following directions and participating in the activities.  We started off in the cafeteria where we learned a little bit about trees.  Then we broke up into smaller groups and went outside to do an ice breaker.  Afterwards we planted trees and then went into the cafeteria to enjoy a snack and some additional activities.  Here are some pictures from our day!
We are on the bus and ready to go! Many smiles to be found in this picture.

We are sitting in the cafeteria waiting for the big day to begin.
The activities begin. On our way out to the relay, the children stopped to see what was going on.
The scarecrow relay.  The children had to run over to the scarecrow, get a piece of paper, it was read by an 8th grader and then a kindergartener ran an item over to the 8th grader to wear.  In the end we had many scarecrows.  It was a very cute activity.
Viviana running over with our final piece of paper.
Here are a few of the scarecrows!

Helping with the soil and water.
 More soil dumping.

Enjoying some baked apples and activities.
 Bark and Leaf rubbings

Entertaining the kids on the bus. They loved riding in the back and it was the place to visit while we waited for our replacement bus!

We had a fabulous day!  I will try to print out some more photos & make a class book to circulate through the class!
