Kindergarten Happenings!

We had a busy and exciting week!  There are a lot of pictures to share from our adventure at the pond! I hope your child filled you in on all the exciting discoveries. Here are some pictures from this week!

STAR STUDENTS ~ Hadley & Emily
This week Emily and Hadley were the Star Students! They both did a terrific job sharing their All About Me pages and family pictures!  They enjoyed answering questions and sharing with their friends!

We have a lot of birthdays to celebrate in May!!
Anna & Ari both celebrate birthdays this week.  We sang the birthday song, picked out their birthday bag and hope they enjoyed their special day! If you see Anna on Saturday, give her a birthday shout out!
Mrs. Eckelman shared some pictures from library today. They had a fun time searching for the different gnomes!

Miss Heather from "Hands on Nature" came in to share a quick slide show to show us the living things; plants & animals we would look for at the pond.  The children were excited to see the pictures but even more excited once we started exploring.

Ms. Heather giving last minute instructions.
Who wants to hold the large frog? He was very jumpy!
Here are the empty containers, but they weren't empty for long!
The buckets started to fill quickly.
We found, tadpoles, mini painted turtles, larger painted turtles, crayfish, frogs and snails!
We even saw two gigantic snapping turtles and many fish!
Harmony & Maria using the nets to find some creatures.
Ari, Agatha, Hadley & Alexis exploring the turtles and frogs.
Here is Mr. Lips!  - He looked like he had lipstick on.
Nikolai caught a medium sized painted turtle! He is adding it to our collection.
Ari has mini tadpoles from the little area near the parking lot.

Emily found a little tiny snail.

Looking at a painted tutle.
A bucket with some tiny tadpoles
More tiny tadpoles.  Ms. Heather said they must have just hatched because last week they weren't there.  Our lucky day!

A giant frog and two large painted turtles!
Ready to explore!

They started very close to Heather and then branched out.
We did an amazing job sharing, getting along and being safe near the pond!
Having a great time!!
Taking a moment to look at the pond!
