Kindergarten Happenings!

Wow!  Another very busy and productive week.  We completed a lot of wonderful activities and made many new discoveries!  There are a lot of great pictures to share so I hope you enjoy them.

Getting ready to participate in the Jump Rope for Heart Challenge

The kids did an exceptional job jumping for 30 minutes! What a great way to get the wiggles out, move our muscles and support a meaningful cause! Ms. Draper said everyone could fill out a sneaker for this activity and have their parent initial the back. So send it in after vacation!

Welcome to our 100th day!  Gramma Felo came to visit today!
Boy does she look great at 100 years old!
Love the spirit of celebration Ella!
The children did an amazing job working the entire morning on 100 day activities!  They were so busy and engaged in their activities. We earned many marbles which ended up filling the jar!  Here are some of the activities we completed.
100 dots - The students put 10 dots in 10 boxes to = 100 dots!
They counted by 10's to get to 100!
They also made 100 day celebration hats!

100 Days of Kindergarten! I just love this group!
 100th day Math activities
The students worked with a partner and chose between some different
100th day math activities that focused on using a 100's chart.
 Making a row of 4
Students took turns to try to connect four of their chips in a row. In order to claim the spot they had to pick a number and identify it correctly. This also involved strategy planning.
Emoji math - students had to write the number that was hidden under different emoji faces.
 Writing numbers to 100!
Party math - similar to emoji math just using different missing numbers and pictures.

We also counted to 100 by 1's, 5's & 10's and did 100 exercises.

Here are the fabulous 100th day projects the children shared!  They did a wonderful job sharing and telling us about how they counted and who helped them with their project.  Thanks for helping your child with this activity.  They were very proud of their work!

Some great ideas on what love is.  A very sweet group of children!
 Candy heart science and exploration.
Opening their Valentine's!  They were so cute to watch and listen to as they opened each card.  The children were very polite and thankful too!

Looking good Mr. Campbell.  Way to be a good sport!

Well as you can see it was a very busy week but we had a lot of fun learning and exploring together! We decided to push off our marble celebration until after vacation as a couple students are not here this week.  I will send something home following vacation about the marble party!

I hope you all have a wonderful winter break!
