Kindergarten Happenings!

What a great week!! The children did an amazing job this week!  I think it was the best week of the year! We saw some amazing writing, listening and working happening in class all week long! The children worked on a special letter, wrote about their hairy heads, explored math concepts and much more! Our year is winding down quickly. It seems a little crazy that we only have about 3 weeks of school left!  We will continue to be busy finishing up our kindergarten learning, reviewing concepts and completing end of the year assessments.  We are excited for the fun run and hoping we have good weather; hopefully no rain & not too hot.  Here are some pictures from our week!

Sentence scramble ~ We are getting pretty good at reading and organizing a sentence correctly.
Math practicing finding sums and making flowers.
More math addition practice with jelly beans in a jar.
Working together to put a 100's chart puzzle back together.

Practicing our teen numbers

Look at our hairy heads!  We grew hair!  Some of us even need haircuts.
The children know that plants need water, air & sun to grow so I hope they are helping to take care of their hairy head.

Sophina wanted to be silly "Oh"

Maskless recess!!  The children were super excited to be free of their masks while playing outside.  They have done a nice job washing their hands and being careful too.

"YAY"

Our Star Students this week were Harmony & Hannah!
They both did a terrific job sharing their pages & pictures! They  also answered questions and enjoyed being the line leader!
We began some new math centers.
This new center is working on shapes! The students are exploring how you can fill a shape different ways & with different pattern blocks.
This center is working with a 100's chart and practicing identifying numbers.
The children were very busy and engaged in the math centers.
Ms. Rose is working hard and helping students with teen numbers!
Two thumbs up for a job well done!
Nearby numbers - This one is challenging and it gets the children to really think.
We had a terrific week.  We enjoyed wearing our pajamas and bringing in our stuffed animals on Friday! We also snuck in another pledge earned reward of extra choice time!  The children were thrilled.
Next week we will have extra time outside, beach towel day and a movie!!  Wow the children are working hard and doing great!!  Hope you all enjoyed the weekend!
