Kindergarten Happenings!

Another great week in the books!  We worked really hard, played with our friends and learned a few things along the way!  We are doing a great job listening, perfecting our routines and working on raising our hands when we want to share so our friends can all have a chance to think.  Here are some photos to enjoy from this week.

Getting our smiles ready for pictures!  We were so patient and did a great job waiting our turns!
Matching upper and lower case letters!
For "work board" the children picked a container, all a little different, but all practicing letter matching. Once they finished matching, a teacher would check their work and ask questions. We might ask what the letter name was or the sound the letter makes.
The cards with a clip are also a great fine motor tool!

Math Time
Roll & cover using pattern blocks. Afterwards the students counted how many of each shape block they used.  It was a great activity to practice seeing dots on a die and identifying it quickly.  (subitizing)

Marble Party Day for Cohort A
Pajamas & extra playground time.

Pumpkins from the Lions Club!
Thank you so much!!
Cohort B - Journal Writing & alphabet matching
This week they wrote about the tools they use as students.

Math write the room - A favorite activity for many! They get to walk around and find cards hanging around the room. Then they count and record the correct number.

Practicing writing numbers 7-9
Pattern block math activity - Roll & cover

Danny loves puzzles!  This one is one of his favorites!
A big HAPPY BIRTHDAY shoutout to Hannah!!!  Her birthday is on Sunday and since we won't see her until Thursday we decided to sing her birthday song this past Friday!  We hope you enjoyed her special hat, song and birthday goodie bag!!!  We also hope you have a fabulous day on your real birthday!!

Everyone is super happy when we get to have recess on the BIG playground!  I think it is their favorite!!

As you can see we had a terrific week!  This week will be super busy with our Halloween parades and activities planned!  Please remember that Tuesday is the Halloween Parade for Cohort A and Friday is the Halloween Parade for Cohort B!  Your child can dress in their costume. Please see Mr. Campbell's email regarding specifics on this.  I would like to encourage packing an extra set of clothes incase your child's costume becomes bothersome to them.  I will allow them to change in the bathroom if they do not want to wear it all day.  They are allowed to wear it the entire day if they want to.  I would also like to ask that everyone packs a special snack for their parade day.  We will have a second snack on this day in the afternoon and I bet the children would love a special treat.  It is easier for you to send in a treat for your child so we don't have to worry about allergies etc.  Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns!  Have a wonderful week!!
Hopefully it is a SPOOKTACULAR one!
