Snowman cvc word match. Some children were challenged to put the words in ABC order! I was impressed that a couple of them were able to do it given there were words beginning with the same letter. Way to work kids!
Word endings ~ am, an, ap & at. The children had to sort the
marshmallow pictures to the correct hot chocolate mug.
Way to go Lily! You did it in ABC order!
Practicing writing a good sentence including a capital
at the beginning, spaces and punctuation.
The favorite activity of the week! Marshmallow Challenge!
The children were given 10 marshmallows, 10 tooth picks and 1 Hershey kiss. The object was to make the tallest snowman that could hold a Hershey kiss on top.
Some friends chose to work alone and others wanted to work with a partner.
First step was to make a plan!
Second step start to build!
Third step was to measure their snowman.
Final steps included writing or dictating their responses for the questions: Did your snowman stand? What did you discover? We also stood around a table and made some observations about our friends different snowman structures. One student commented "Oh, the fatter the bottom the sturdier it is." As he pointed to one of his classmates structures.
Gung Hay Fat Choy! I hope you all had a Happy Chinese New Year! I had a meeting at the end of the year and didn't get a chance to snap a picture of all our Fire Roosters but I caught Sophia on her way out! The hats came out super cute!!
