Kindergarten Happenings!

Back from vacation and we got right to work!  The kids did an amazing job writing and illustrating this week.  We are all super excited about the book we will be publishing.  We practiced our illustrations and writing.  We were impressed with their hard work!  Next week we will dive into completing our final product for publishing.  We showed the children the published books we made with the 3rd, 2nd, and 1st grade classes when they were in kindergarten.  This was quite motivating and made it really exciting for them!

Pattern block creations ~ proud to show off their work
 Geoblock constructions
 This class loves building!
Helping with the morning message! The children have to figure out
the missing word and make sure it makes sense.
Circling sight words! There were a lot of them on this message!
Practicing addition facts and making flowers!
The center of the flower is the sum and the petals are math facts.
Students have to solve the math fact and put it with the correct sum.
Matching ten frames and numbers from 1-20.
Matching numbers and base ten blocks with numbers 1-20.
Working on our fine motor skills by tearing paper to strengthen our finger muscles.
We also made a mosaic using green, blue and red to make the earth with a heart.
Later in the day we wrote how we could help the earth.
Earth day poem and practicing the final lower case letters on our HWT ap.
Practicing bumping lines and writing neatly with our HWT workbook.
We have almost finished the whole book.  It is fun to look where they started and how they are writing now!

These two did an amazing job working together and solving these math puzzles.
Journey shared a book by passing in a class reader coupon!  They enjoyed the spooky story!
Nonsense word go fish. The kids loved this game!
Each child was given some cards with nonsense words on them.  They had to read the word and ask a friend if they had the match.  It was just like go fish using nonsense words.  We will definitely be using this game again.  It is a great way to practice reading nonsense words in a fun way!
Working with tens and ones to make numbers using base ten blocks.

 Another pattern block creation
