Kindergarten Happenings!

It has been an interesting end of the week but we had a lot of fun learning despite the craziness happening in the world.  We stayed focused and engaged in our school activities.  We were happy to be with one another and enjoyed sharing our successes!  Here are some pictures from our week!  Hope you enjoy them!

Sharing their creations again!  They love pattern blocks!

Reading sentences and matching them with the correct picture.
We have been talking about brushing our teeth and oral hygiene for the past couple of weeks.  One of the questions posted all week this week was if each child brushed their teeth.  I was amazed at how many students throughout the week said they didn't brush in the morning.  So, I told them I would post it to remind us all that the best way to have a sparkling smile is by brushing our teeth at least 2X per day.  Once in the morning and once before bed!  Hopefully this will help your child remember the importance of clean teeth and fresh breath!
Fundations!  This week I had students take turns being the leader for a row on the alphabet chart.  They would say the letter, keyword and sound for the letter.  Then once they held up baby Echo the class would "echo" them.  They loved being "the teacher".

 Read to Someone
We learned about and practiced reading to someone.  The kids did a great job and were very successful reading to one another.  To become a better reader the trick is to read, read, read!  So that is what we will do.  We will pracitce reading from our good fit books in our browsing boxes a few times each week!

 Farm puzzle complete!
 Our Star Student
William was the Star Student this week!  He did a great job sharing his family page, all about me and special share items he brought it!  Way to go William!!
William brought in a game to share with his friends!  It is one of my favorite games too!!  Qwirkle was the name of the game and he had a lot of fun sharing it with his friends.  When we return to school he will have more time allotted to share with his friends!
 Another Fundations helper!
On Friday we continued some fun pi activities. Pi day is tomorrow so hopefully you will enjoy your yummy pie you took home from school!  We got together with Mrs. Bennett's class twice on Friday.  Once to share some pi activities and a second time to read with one another!

I hope everyone has a wonderful and healthy weekend!
