Kindergarten Happenings!

Recess fun!  WE enjoyed the lamb weather this past week! The children loved the snow hill this week.  Unfortunately by the end of the week it was surrounded by mud and super wet.  So with all this melting occurring the children will have the opportunity to play on the playgrounds again and hard top.  The field and snow hill will be closed until the mud subsides.

K-2 meeting.  Kindergarten got the attendance award for the three grades this past month!  Way to stay healthy kindergarten! Awards were given out for "hard worker of the month" and we talked about playground rules.

Work boards this week worked on sorting pictures with the beginning sounds of p, b, d, q.  The children tend to mix up the way to form these letters so although they can distinguish the sound the challenge was placing it under the correct letter and then writing each word phonetically.
Short vowel sound sort

STAR STUDENT!  Everett was the star student this week!  He did a great job sharing his pages and family pictures.  He also brought in his favorite puppy and a pirate book that we read.  Great job sharing Everett!  I hope you enjoyed your week!!

Math with Mr. Flournoy!  It was Pi day so we talked about circles and did some pi activities!

Mystery Readers ~ We had 2 Mystery Readers this week!!  How lucky were we!!!
Thank you Mrs. Mancini for coming in and reading us a story!  We loved having you and especially enjoyed the story you read.  We were a bit boisterous and couldn't seem to stop chatting but I think the excitement of the Leprechaun and potential traps we were going to build go the best of us.

Class reader coupon!  Journey turned in a class reader coupon and shared a picture book with the class.  It was a neat book where she was able to tell the story entirely herself using the pictures.  What a great way to practice oral language and using your imagination!  Great story telling Journey!

Building Leprechaun traps with Mrs. Bennett's Class
We took a trip up to the maker space and picked out some items to build traps with.  The kids had a lot of fun thinking about and creating their traps.  I wonder if anyone will catch a Leprechaun?

 Mystery Reader #2
Ava was excited to see her Aunt Susan come in as a mystery reader!  She took a couple special trips to make this happen so we thank her for traveling the distance to read to us!  The kids loved her stories and shared some laughs along the way!

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!
