Kindergarten Happenings!

 WOW!  What an exciting week!
We got a lot done and had a blast learning and exploring along the way!
 Work Boards
Making sentences with sight words. The students were given sentence starters and they had to find the missing word.  The sentence frames were: "I like the  ____."  "I can _____."
The students read the sentences to us.
 Spooky Ten Frames -
Working with numbers 0-10 using eyeballs and ten frames.  They loved the creepy eyeballs.  Especially as they rolled around the floor.

Working on counting, recording and graphing.  It can be trick as the pictures
are all mixed up and they have to keep track of which pictures have been counted.
Some students benefit from using cubes to help keep track.
Being sneaky on Tuesday morning.  The kindergarten children helped to "BOO" some of the other students at BMS!  We dropped off buckets of special treats for classes that hadn't been "BOOed" yet! They had fun sneaking around.
 Creepy Pair of Underwear
The students really enjoyed this silly book and making their own underwear!

Trip to the fire station!  Firefighter Bart and Firefighter Jeremy gave us a tour and talked to us about safety and the tools they use in a fire.
Firefighter Jeremy dressed in all his gear.  We talked about not being scared a firefighter when they are all geared up.  They may look and sound different but they are there to help them.

 Checking out the new ambulance!
 A group shot!
 Halloween Fun!
We enjoyed some exciting activities on Wednesday!
Sorting seeds and feeling the pumpkin pulp!
Some children loved this and others really disliked touching the slimy mess!
Headed to the pond to see if the pumpkin would sink or float.
Making predictions!
Walking the hallway to see all the wonderfully decorated pumpkins.
Showing off our awesome emoji pumpkins!
New daily five activity working on making nonsense and real words.
 Enjoying some STEM activities.
One was relating to our song/poem "Five Little Pumpkins."
The students had to work together using tongue depressors and clothespins to create a gate that 5 pumpkins could sit on.  This was a fun challenge!

 Way to go boys!

Second STEM activity was making shapes with marshmallow pumpkins and toothpicks.
This got a little sticky but the children enjoyed creating shapes.
Some were even able to create 3D shapes.

We also made a witch craft using shapes!

We had an amazing week!  I hope you enjoy the pictures and have a wonderful weekend!
