Leprchaun Traps

A little math practice with puzzles & games

Miss Ouellette played the bag pipes at the end of our lunch on St. Patrick's Day!
STEM Activity - Creating Leprechaun Traps
Turn to a partner, discuss some ideas & make a plan.
What materials do you need & sketch a model.
 Building their traps

 Finished projects
AJ & Caelan built a sleeping place for Leprechauns and
had links to catch them when they came to sleep.
Jimmy & Jude designed a zip line for the Leprechaun to ride and
at the end they would fall into a little house/trap.

Mary had a great idea for an outside trap.  Dig a hole and put rainbow colored sticks on top. When the Leprechaun sees the rainbow he will run and fall into the hole.
Maddie & Sami used Lincoln Logs to build a house with gold paper to attract the Leprechauns.
Lily & Eloise used a chain to encourage the Leprechaun to climb up into their house.
Cameron & Olivia built a house and made a sign "Leprechaun Party" to entice the Leprechauns to come in.  Once they entered a trap would catch them.
Owen & Grant made a pile of geo blocks with paper gold pots around it to encourage the Leprechauns to climb the pile.  It was surrounded by a chain to catch them once they entered.

We had some creative thinking happening and some really great ideas!  A Leprechaun visited our traps during Enrichment but we didn't have any luck catching him.  He left footprints and glitter all over our room!  Sneaky little guy!  The kids were so excited! We had a boisterous day!

We hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!
