Another busy week in kindergarten! We continue to work hard reviewing skills we have learned as well as practice some new skills. We also began some planting activities this week. Here are some pictures to enjoy from our week of hard work!
Jackson is sorting long vowel sounds.
He has to identify the picture, say the word and sort it under the correct long vowel sound.
Zoey is working on sounding out CVCC & CVCE words.
She is using magnetic letters to build each word for the picture on the card.
Ava created a cool pattern block tower.
Another creative pattern block design by Addison & Meira.
Working on matching base ten blocks and higher numbers.
Wyatt & Zoey are working on building a 100's chart puzzle.
Second Graders came in to survey us. We can't wait to go down the hall and see the results of the surveys posted.
I have....Who has....?
Wow, were we impressed with this one. The children had cards with numbers and then words for tens & ones. The children had to listen to the number of tens and ones and look at their card to see if they had the card. They did a terrific job! Boy were we impressed!
I have 78. Who has 3 tens and 4 ones?
Happy Birthday Addison! We hope you had a fabulous 6th birthday!
You looked so pretty in your dress and hat!
Mystery Reader! Yeah!!
Thank you Mrs. Roberts for coming in and reading two terrific stories to the children!
Meira was so very excited to have you!
Zoey was practicing writing sight words and sentences! Here are two sweet sentences she wrote about her mom and dad!
Practicing handwriting - using some HWT practice pages and HWT aps.
Strengthening our finger muscles by tearing paper and making a colorful flower!
Class reader coupon - Bennett chose a book about farms to share with the class.
Planting - We planted grass seed in socks to make "Hairy Heads" and flower seeds in pots. With a little luck we will have some sprouts by the end of the week!
Some of the children loved getting dirty with the soil.
Coloring a book about the life cycle of plants.
Next week we will talk about the farm, changes plants and animals make and continue planting activities. We also have a few exciting things happening this week. We will be exploring the pond on Tuesday with Ms. Heather. We have the Memorial Day Program on Thursday and our field trip on Friday. Looks like we will be very busy and engaged in a variety of activities! We hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. The weather finally pulled through for us!
