The winner is....

We would like to thank Mrs. Woodward for organizing and including our class in a Presidential Election for three story characters.  In honor of the real election taking place, we had an election of our own at BMS which included reading three stories and listening to what the character did to prove he/she would be a good President.  Afterwards, Mrs. Woodward set up a voting station for us to cast our votes.  The nominees were Grace, Splat the Cat and Clifford the Big Red Dog.  Children from grades K-3 cast their votes on Tuesday and at the end of the day Clifford was the winner! Here are some pictures to enjoy!

Congratulations Clifford the Big Red Dog!

Math Time with iPads
We have been comparing numbers. We have been using words like greater and less. So today we took out the iPads and used the "Show Me" app.  We had to be really good listeners because we were given a number and then had to write the number and the number that is greater or less than it. Some were even challenged to write a number 1 or 2 greater/less! They did a terrific job, were engaged and really enjoyed practicing writing numbers using technology.

We have included computers in our Daily Five rounds.  The children have been working on the website "Starfall".  They are very excited about this choice at Daily Five.

Extra Recess!  On Monday morning we enjoyed an extra recess earned by the whole school for collecting over 3,000 pieces of candy.  Our goal was 1,000 pieces and we certainly exceeded that!  Way to go BMS!!
