Kindergarten Happenings!

WOW!!! We just had a very busy and exciting week! We celebrated a marble party, saw the first grade performance, celebrated the 100th day, had a visit from Mr. Campbell & Mr. Zanghi, and celebrated Valentine's Day!  Here are some pictures of our week!
Journal writing about someone we love.

Cutting & sorting words with the same ending sounds.
 Pattern Block creations

 Choice time
 Playdo - playing bakery
Toys - building habitats with magnatiles, playmobile & animals.

 Math subtraction game

 Fine motor fun
ripping paper into pieces for a special project
Ticket to snack - writing words on the board.
Here are some of the reasons why they love you!!
Happy Valentine's Day!!

Another cool habitat built by William.
On the 100th day, I posted 100 hearts around the room.  Each heart gave a reason why I love this group of children!  Here are some of our projects we did on the 100th day!
 Decorating their 100th day glasses!
 Making 100th day hats!

Making 100 dots for our hats
Each child counted out 10 strips and put 10 dots on each to make 100 dots.

 Looking cool in their glasses!
 What a great hat!
First grade performance.  They did an amazing job!  I love seeing former students and the growth they make from the end of kindergarten and halfway through their first grade year.
 Looking GOOD!!
Wow...look at all these amazing projects!  We had donuts with 100 sprinkles,100 eyes on a monster, 100 hearts, 100 pennies, 100 pictures, 100 pac man pellets and so much more.  You will see all these great projects in the upcoming pictures!!  Awesome job counting to 100.  I heard that some started at 1, others made groups of 10, some helped mom or dad and some weren't really sure how they counted.  They did a nice job telling us about their projects, how they completed it and who helped them.  Thank you for your assistance.
 100 day math games
Race to 100 on a 100's chart using cubes and dice.
Mystery numbers ~ A party themed object covered a number on the 100's chart.  The student had to figure out which number was covered and write it down.  They did very well with this especially since we haven't done a lot with large numbers yet.
Here was a BIG challenge that many completed.  Write the missing numbers on the 100's chart.  There were a lot more missing numbers than numbers on the chart.  I was super impressed!

 100th day class photo!
Here are the amazing 100th day projects I mentioned earlier!
Tucker's 100 faces
 Kupa's 100 gems
Amelia's sticker book with 100 stickers.
Very clever & she set it up with 10 on each page.
 Enzo's H made out of 100 pennies
 Aubree's 100 magnetic letters
Jordan's 100 hearts - Loving every minute of her 100 days of school!
Calvin wanted to bring in 100 mini lego figurines.
 Makenna's 100 cotton balls
 William's 100 piece puzzle
 Mila's monster with 100 eyes
Harper's unicorn with 100 strings for its mane
 Nate's 100 Pac Man pellets
 Kasey's 100 mini elastics

 Happy Valentine's Day
Blowing you kisses!!

They are loving toy creations this week!

As you can see we had a great week and got a lot of things done.  We hope everyone enjoys the winter break!  Relax, have fun and try to get some outdoor time in!  This rainy week has couped us up a little.  Hopefully the weather will be better next week so the kids can enjoy some much needed fresh air!  Have a safe and wonderful vacation!
