A short week with two snow days in the beginning. We hope you all enjoyed your Thanksgiving and extended break given the amount of snow we had! Upon our return we had a great week! It is hard to believe there are only 2 more weeks until winter break. Time is flying by!
Here are some pictures to enjoy from last week!
We started our week late but were very excited to have a Mystery Reader! Thank you Mrs. Jenkins for coming in and reading two stories to the class. Aubree was especially excited to have you! It is so fun to watch them try to guess the clues and see the excitement on their faces. We have a few more interested Mystery Readers and I will schedule them with you after the New Year.
Daily Five Stations
The children really did a spectacular job during our Daily Five Rounds this week!
We had stamping beginning and ending sounds, sight word activity, sight word journals, read to self, listen to reading, and osmo. They are working hard during the rounds. I am holding onto some of the activities until they complete it entirely just as a way to keep track of who has done each. We will introduce new activities as they begin to complete the current ones.
Recess & Snow
The children really love the snow pile out at recess! They had a lot of fun building snowmen, digging and sliding on the hill. Here are some of the happy faces I could capture!
It is so nice to see all the children engaged in playing across the field!
A bit of a challenge but Enzo & Will did a fabulous job sounding out the picture word and finding the short vowel sound. Way to work slowly to figure out the sounds.
Kupa is working on matching beginning sounds.
Makenna is working on counting and recording numbers.
Kaylie is working on spelling sight words.
The next two weeks will be very busy with a lot of fun and exciting learning activities and special events. We are looking forward to the next 10 days! Wow, December is flying by so fast already.
Enjoy the week!
