Kindergarten Happenings!

We had a busy week with many special things happening.  We also had a surprise early release and late arrival.  We enjoyed our school reward for the Fun Run and celebrated Valentine's Day as well.  Enjoy the pictures!  Some of them are quite cute!
Rhyming Presidents - Matching the two pictures that rhyme.
When we return from vacation we will learn about some of our Presidents.
Sorting pictures based on the ending sounds with endings -ot, -et, -it, -at, - ut.
Filling in the short vowel sounds.
A special Mystery Reader ~ Mr. Gould!  Thank you so much for taking the time to read to us!
The kids loved having you and I loved the book that you brought!  Everett & Zoey were beyond thrilled and surprised to have you!  Thanks for coming!!

Work on Writing!  We added a new choice to Daily Five.
Work on writing where the students can write about anything they want. They will try to do this independently with check ins but mostly on their own. This will help them begin to sound out words and focus on sentence structure.  I am excited with the writing I saw today!

Read to Someone!  Nice job boys!
Starfall.com a great site to use to help with building words, using letters and sounds.
You can also work on reading skills.
Learning about symmetry with Mr. Flournoy!  The kids then played a game
where they had to use pattern blocks and place their piece properly.

 Outside at recess
Jackson shooting hoops!
Having fun on the big hill!!
The kids loved opening their Valentine's!
 All smiles!
The funky glasses were a huge hit!

Mr. Mariani reading a Valentine story.
 Mr. Campbell's big dunk!
 and a layup!
Kids getting ready for the big game!
Bennett was great at defense.  He stopped many balls from crossing the line.
Jackson did a great job as well!

We had a lot of fun!  The game of teachers vs students was awesome and full of excitement!
I hope everyone has a fabulous February vacation!
