We had a great first full week. The children are learning and becoming very familiar with the classroom routines. We still have a few things to work on and fine tune but they are off to a terrific start! It was great seeing many of you at Open House the other night. Please let me know if you have any questions. Here are a few pictures from our week. I hope you enjoy them!
Rainbow tower with the interlocking cubes. How many cubes did you use?
Will built some tools with the interlocking cubes. A hammer, saw, and wrench.
He even demonstrated how they each work!
Josie's creation with pattern blocks.
Math game with dice and cubes. Roll, count & place the correct amount of cubes.
Number practice on magnetic boards. Nice 3 Hunter!
Mat Man ~ We listened to and built "Mat Man".
Then the children worked in two groups to build their own.
They then continued to draw a person "Mat man" on paper.
A little extra recess time on this beautiful week!
The children enjoyed blowing bubbles & running around and playing!
Some fine motor practice. We practiced cutting. We will continue practicing cutting and trying to stay on the lines. Some of us slowed down and worked very carefully!
Our alphabet looks beautiful. The children used tissue paper to create the alphabet letters.
They were challenged to crinkle the tissue paper using just their pinching fingers.
This is a great way to build finger strength and stamina.
Games ~ Playing a fishing game together.
A game of frogs. Who can get it in the bucket? How many can you get in?
Mr. Potato Head ~ They look great Aviva!
Math ~ Practicing number writing using shaving cream. The children had a wonderful time writing numbers in the shaving cream. They did a terrific job and earned some free time drawing in the shaving cream!
Handwriting Without Tears (HWT) ~ Practicing number 3.
More fine motor exercises. Using broken crayons to help gain a pincher grip while making small circles to fill in the white circles.
Tennis ball and pennies ~ another activity to help build finger strength, coordination and stamina.
Writing Center and step drawings.
Another Potato Head looking good!
Alphabet Arc ~ matching magnetic letters to the arc. We practiced saying the alphabet, spelled our names, and practiced identifying the 10 letters/sounds we have learned.
Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
