Last Two Weeks

We have had a busy last two weeks! Here are a few details. 

 Planetarium ~ LINK sponsored an amazing show.  This is a big bubble that we crawled into to watch and learn about the planets.  The kids loved this experience!  

 Painting our Mother's Day gifts.

 Punctuation ~ asking or telling

Student read a sentence and had to decide if it ended with a period or a question mark.

Word Families ~ Listening for the ending sounds in words 

 Mystery Reader!! 

 Yeah we had an extra special "mystery reader" last week.  Maddie's grandmother joined us on Wednesday to read a special story.  Maddie was very surprised and excited when she arrived.  Thank you Mrs. King for taking the time to get a CORI check and read to the class.  The children loved having you! 

 Using lines when writing properly.

Mrs. Trudeau is helping us learn how to adjust to the different lines we might see when we are writing.  The children practiced writing some sight words using two lines, three lines and one line.  We did a really nice job!

 Shapes, shapes & more shapes

 Flat or 2D shapes ~ We used toothpicks and marshmallows to create some flat shapes.  

 Solid or 3D shapes ~ We worked with Mr. Flournoy to create solid shapes using clay.  

 Happy Belated Mother's Day!  We hope you enjoyed your spoons! 

 Recycle, reduce & reuse

 Working in the maker space to create projects from recycled goods!  The children had a blast with this activity!!  

 STAR STUDENT!!  Owen was very excited to get his chance to be the Star Student.  He brought in some special Pokemon things to share with the class.  He also did a great job sharing his papers and family page!  Way to go Owen!

 Magnetic pattern blocks & tangram puzzles

 Working on shading~ light and heavy pressure when working.  This was tricky for some.

 The kids were excited to take their heads home.  Don't forget to remind them to water them!  

Other great news to share is we filled our marble jar!  The kids are thrilled we will have a MARBLE party next week sometime!  

Field trip on Monday!  Don't forget to wear your red BMS shirt, sneakers & bring a lunch.
