WOW,  what an amazing week! We started our week with a day of science!  Thanks to LINK for providing us with the opportunity to have Heather Simpson from "Hands on Nature" come in and help us explore and discover.  We had a chance to look at plants and animals at the pond, vernal pool and water area near the parking lot.  The kids loved it!  We also borrowed a few small tadpoles and large bullfrog tadpoles and put them in aquariums to observe in our classroom for a little bit.  
 A slide show prior to heading out so we would know 
some of the things we would see on our adventure! 

 Miss Heather had an example of a large bullfrog tadpole for us to touch and look at.  
She also had a baby sun turtle and some containers for us to put the things we found in.

We continued our Monday with an afternoon planting seeds. 
 Pumpkin seeds for the school garden
 Each child chose to plant zinnias, sunflowers or basil. 
 Hairy Heads ~ We can't wait to see their hair come in!! 
 Practicing for our play on stage!  Remember to practice your lines please! 
 Hunting for 3D or solid shapes in a magazine.

 Filling in a shape with pattern blocks. It was amazing to see 
the many different ways this shape could be filled in! 
 STAR STUDENT !
Cameron was our Star Student this week!  He did a wonderful job sharing his pages, pictures and things he brought in.  He shared a favorite picture of his family, his favorite hat and Lucky the Care Bear stuffed animal.  Way to go Cameron!!

We had a fantastic week and will continue to explore and observe the changes that occur with our tadpoles and plants in the room.  We are excited about our Monday field trip!
