Monday - Sports Day
Tuesday - Color Wars
Wednesday - Heart Day
Thursday - Career Day
Friday - Crazy Hat/Hair Day
Here are some of the things we have done during the last two weeks! I think I forgot to post last weeks activities.
Journal writing ~ It is amazing to see the children write in their journals. They have learned so much and it is impressive to watch them sound out words and work on sentence structure.
Snowman CVC match ~ matching pictures to the correct hat
Rhyming Penguins ~ finding the rhyming pictures
Working on matching the hat to the correct snowman. Having some fun at the same time.
Sorting solid, liquids and gases. The 3 states of matter.
Matching words & pictures
Wow Cate! Look at those wonderful sentences! Way to go!
Gym - creating an obstacle course
STEM Challenge - Students worked in pairs to build a snowman. They were given 10 marshmallows, 10 toothpicks and had to try and balance a Hershey kiss on top! The students were very excited about this activity but didn't think it would be as challenging as it was. They worked hard and some groups were able to get it to stand up.
It was very hard not to eat the kiss!
Finished and it almost stood on its own.
It stood alone and measured 2.5 inches.
Groundhog's Day ~ We were very busy and excited about the day. We watched the news segment on the groundhog's prediction, made hats, worked on a painting and completed a crossword puzzle. It was a busy and fun day! We also learned some interesting facts about groundhogs!

Star Student ~ Arianna was our Star Student and did a great job sharing her information cards and items she brought to school. We will keep her things up this week since it took us a little while to share given the busy week. Way to go Arianna!
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. We have a very busy week approaching. It is also a spirit week. You can see the spirit day schedule at the top of this blog. Thanks!
