Kindergarten Happenings!

What a week!!  We were able to get a lot done!  I am sorry that Cohort A missed out on their Valentine's Day but happy that many of you picked up their Valentine's so they could enjoy them!  I hope they liked opening their treats from their friends. I know Cohort B was over the moon opening their cards and treats!  Our rule was no opening candy/edible treats until you got home and asked your family.  Both Cohorts were able to write what they thought love is with a writing robot craft.  We have those displayed in the hallway and will send them home later on.  We worked on blending and segmenting sounds, real/nonsense words, addition, handwriting and much more.  Cohort B had the opportunity to do a STEM activity which they loved and a writing piece that we sent home.  Here are some pictures from the week. Sorry I do not have many from Cohort A since we were only in school on one day.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALEXIS!!
We were able to celebrate Alexis' birthday on Monday!  We read a special book she brought in to share with the class, sang and she enjoyed picking out her birthday treat!  We hope she had a wonderful day!

Kindergarten Happenings!

We made it through a snowy week!  The children did a great job Zooming on Monday & Tuesday during our snow days!  I know it can be tricky but they seemed to do well.  Ms. Torgersen said they did well on Wednesday too.  Cohort B did very well in person this week as well.
Overall we did a fantastic job working with letters/sounds and practicing addition.  I am impressed with how each child has grown individually.  Some are able to hear beginning sounds, some beginning & ending sounds and some can hear all sounds in a CVC or CCVC word.  Nice work everyone!  I wanted to share the awesome pictures I received of everyone with their snow person.  I hope they enjoyed making their snowman and writing something about him/her.  I will be printing the pictures, adding it to the writing piece and hanging it up in the hall. Great work everyone!!

YAY!!! We celebrated Anthony's 6th birthday on Thursday!  We hope he had a fabulous day!! We sang the birthday song with "cha cha cha's" and he picked out a special birthday bag and book.  I loved the special birthday shirt he wore on his special day too!

Happy Birthday to Alexis this weekend!!  We hope you have a terrific day and we will celebrate with you on Monday!!

Thank you for your continued support during our hybrid learning time!  Keep up the awesome work kindergarteners!  I am very proud of you and your hard work!

Cohort A we will celebrate our marble party on Monday since we missed out on our reward last week.  Feel free to wear your jammies to school and we will watch a video and have some extra choice time!  It is also spirit week, so if you prefer to dress as your favorite character you can do that or combine the two.  It is up to you!

Cohort B enjoyed celebrating their marble reward on Friday!!  We wore our jammies, watch some Eric Carle videos and enjoyed extra choice time!

We hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!!
