Kindergarten Happenings!

We had a great week!  Here are some pictures of our wonderful week!
 Sorting pictures with beginning sounds p, q, b, d.
Sorting short & long vowel sounds.
Students had to say the word and segment the sounds to hear the short/long vowel sounds.
Proud of himself for finishing all his work!
Sorting real and nonsense words.
Students had to read the cvc words and decide if they were real or nonsense.

 Hit The Bus Band
Thank you LINK for the wonderful dance party. On Friday the children enjoyed a music show from Hit the Bus Band.  The children had the opportunity to get up and dance, which many of them took full advantage of.  They had a blast! Here are some pictures for your enjoyment.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!
Today the children were beyond excited to set traps for leprechauns.  We were lucky enough to have a visit from one but we weren't able to catch the little fellow.  They are so sneaky!  The children made plans and created traps.  Some worked alone and some chose to work with a partner.  Either way they had a blast and were so excited when they returned from technology and found footprints around the room.  Here are some pictures from the process.

So excited to find a note that said "Nice Try" on the board!
"Oh my, look at the prints!"

They had a fantastic, fun Friday!!!  Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

 Mystery Reader!
We want to thank Catie's "Nuh - Nuh" for coming in and reading us a story.  Catie was beyond thrilled to have her come in.  The children enjoyed the Dr. Seuss book she read to us.
We also want to thank her for the special Dr. Seuss mini notebooks and pencils she gave us!
Thank you for taking the time out of your day and spending part of it with us.
The kids loved having you!

Class photo with Catie's Nuh Nuh
Making sight words with wikki sticks
Mrs. Dumphy a dental hygienist came in on Friday to talk to us about keeping our teeth healthy.  We hope the children enjoy their new toothbrushes and remember to brush at least 2x a day and floss.

Hope you had a nice weekend!  The call just came in on another snow day.  I thought Spring was in sight but apparently Mother Nature has other plans.  Although I would much rather be in school let's make the best of the day off and snuggle up with our munchkins!

Stay warm!

Kindergarten Happenings!

A busy week!  I didn't get a chance to snap a lot of pictures but did capture some from our Community Reading Day & Dr. Seuss birthday celebration.

Thank you Mr. Banaski for coming to read to us!
We enjoyed the Dr. Seuss book about teeth!  Hope the rest of your day was as exciting as your morning full of questions. :)

OOBLECK!!!
We listened to the story of Bartholomew and the Oobleck today.  We also made our own oobleck to explore if we thought it was a solid or liquid. Some children loved playing with it while others were a little hands off.  It was fun to watch them explore and learn!

I wish I had a chance to snap a few more photos but it was a busy week!
Hope to have more to share next week!
