An amazing first two days! I am very proud of the students and how well they did learning the routines and daily activities. It is still a work in progress but they did a wonderful job so far! Today we had a fire drill with the whole school and fire department. Our children were truly amazing! They stopped what they were doing, lined up and walked quietly outside perfectly! I know some of them were worried about the noise and how loud it might be but they were true champs through it all. You would not have known they were scared. Super job kindergarten! I am so proud of you!
We also earned a lot of marbles today! Our jar is filling up rather quickly! Here are a few pictures from today!

We will be making a self portrait book this year. Each month the children will draw a pictures of themselves. At the end of the year we will put them together in a book. This portrait will be on the cover of the book. The children decorated the person to look like themselves. Afterwards we worked on our cutting skills! You can take a peek at these during the Open House on September 18th.
We also read a story and drew about something they can do. The children illustrated the picture and we talked about using details and different colors. We will practice illustrating throughout the year.
Today we also shared our pennant information. The children used the microphone and shared about their favorite things. I was impressed with the way they shared and listened to each other. Next week we will continue to explore the classroom, learn each others names and do some activities to help us learn the daily routine. I hope everyone has a wonderful long weekend!
