Week happenings

We had a good week back after vacation. Here are a few pictures of our week! 

Chloe reading a story to the class. She earned a coupon and decided to pick a book to read and share with the class. Terrific job Chloe! 

These three did a fantastic job working to build numbers using tens and ones! We have been working on composing and decomposing numbers 11-19. 

Today we planted pumpkin seeds for the school garden. We also made some "hairy heads".  The children are excited to see what happens to them. We will continue some planting activities next week!  

Skylar and Christian are working on math!  

Elina turned in her class reader coupon this week. She read a book about snakes to the children!  Great job Elina! 

A little "Go noodle" to get us up and moving!  We had a lot of fun dancing and moving around!  

Meet the authors!  Here is the picture we will be including in our book that is being published. We are very excited to see the final product!

Yesterday I sent home a form so we can publish a class book. The children are very excited about this as am I! In order to include your chikd's work you need to sign and return the form by Friday. I have to mail the final copies and forms this weekend in order to receive our book by the end of the year. You do not have to buy a book but a form still needs to be signed. Thank you for your help!  We can't wait to see our finished product!

Our third grade friends have been working on narrative adventures. On Wednesday they shared their stories with us. Below you will find pictures of the event. The children loved listening to all the stories.

We celebrated Skylar's birthday last week!  She was one happy girl! 

Mason is working on reading sentences and finding pictures to match each!  

Dylan is working on Inventory Bags. He is counting and recording the amount in two ways. We are reviewing numbers 11-20. 

Sadly, we said good bye to Mr. Adams. The children will miss his little jokes. He would sometimes change up our schedule or calendar numbers to see if the kids noticed. They always did!

This week we are reviewing numbers 11-20. I have set up a little math station that focuses on manipulatives and matching numbers to quantities. It also includes a challenging activity with larger numbers and some missing number activities. The children enjoyed doing these this afternoon. 

These two activities work on missing numbers. The planes numbers may be missing first, second or last. The bird one is always the middle number. 

Zackery is working with some larger numbers. Way to go! 

Mason and Jayden are counting and finding the correct number. 

Aiden is also working on matching numbers and quantities.

A great big happy birthday is sent out to Skylar!  She celebrated her birthday on Sunday and we sang to her today!  She is a sweet, caring little girl! Hope she had a great day!
